This website is a personal professional site operated by Anurag Anant Mishra. This page explains what data is collected when you visit, why, and what choices you have. I work in measurement and analytics for a living, so I have tried to write this plainly rather than hide behind boilerplate.

Who is responsible for your data

Anurag Anant Mishra is the data controller for this website. If you have any question about this policy or your data, you can reach me through the contact page.

What data is collected

No accounts, no payments, and no advertising are run on this site.

Cookies and consent

Cookies that are not strictly necessary are only set after you give consent. When you first visit, a consent banner appears. Nothing in the statistics category loads until you accept it.

Consent is managed using Cookiebot. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the small consent icon in the bottom-left corner of any page.

A note on Google Consent Mode

This site uses Google Consent Mode in its advanced configuration. In plain terms: if you decline analytics cookies, Google Analytics still loads, but it runs without cookies and without any identifier for you. It may send an anonymous, cookieless signal to Google indicating that a page was viewed and that consent was declined. That signal contains no identifiers, is not linked to you, and cannot be used to recognise you across visits or sites.

I have chosen to disclose this explicitly because it is a real distinction, and one that most privacy policies gloss over.

Which services are used

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy terms.

The contact form

If you submit the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent to me so I can reply. This information is used for no purpose other than responding to you. It is not added to any mailing list and is not sold or shared.

How long data is kept

Google Analytics event and user data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Aggregated reporting remains available beyond that period, but the underlying user-level data does not. Microsoft Clarity retains data according to its own retention schedule. Your consent choice is stored for up to one year, after which you will be asked again. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the conversation.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. To exercise any of these, use the contact page.

Children

This site is aimed at working professionals and is not directed at children. No data is knowingly collected from children.

Changes to this policy

If the tools or purposes on this site change, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
